Autism is a difficult condition to detect and diagnose. It’s not hard to imagine that educated, generally affluent parents are particularly likely to suspect autistic traits in their children and do what’s necessary to get proper disgnoses. Scientists, engineers and other technologically oridnted types are educated and often affluent. You see what I’m getting at?

It would be useful to look at autism rates among the children of educated, affluent but not technogically oriented parents, for example business executives.
