Capitalism and Society — new electronic journal

This is from The Berkeley Electronic Press, here is the link, along with the papers.  Edmund Phelps directs a very prestigious Board.  Here is the description:

We publish scholarly work on topics central to the mission of the Center on Capitalism and Society
whose length, subject matter, approach, etc. would normally preclude
publication in a standard journal. We want to stimulate and provide a
forum for discourse for ideas that may not be proven beyond a
reasonable doubt. Accordingly we will publish papers along with the
commentary of a reviewer, leaving room for “agreement to disagree.”

Here is further description; it should please the Austrians.  Thanks to David Boaz for the pointer.

Ughh. Could someone tell the folks at the Centre for Capitalism and Society that they should hire someone to rewrite the bumpf on their website? Is it just me, or does the “Introduction to the Center” read like some Chinese government publication? “The Center’s aim, therefore, must be to find the particular institutions that, in combination with some if not all other institutions, operate to restrict dynamism in much of the world and those institutions whose reform or replacement would inject the more capitalist economies with great dynamism.” There is a coherent thought lurking deep within that sentence, but boy they’re working hard to conceal it.
