Elin

She was a Finnish painter from the turn of the century, that is her self-portrait.  Here is another self-portrait, especially radiant.  Here are more images.  Here is an old photo.

She may have been born in Finland, but her name suggests that she was of Swedish ethnicity.

Finland’s political, economic, and cultural life were all dominated by the Swedish-speaking minority–holdovers from the long period of Swedish suzerainty in Finland (which ended at the Congress of Vienna!)–until well into the twentieth century.

Even today Finland has two official languages–Finish and Swedish.

Not exactly a pin-up girl, but this lady has something in her face suggesting that she might be a pleasant personality. I can’t define what, however.
