Acoustic guitar bleg

I’ve been trawling YouTube for amazing guitar clips – Reverend Gary Davis, John McLaughlin, Julian Bream, that sort of thing.  I’ll nominate this Bola Sete clip as my pick, what is yours?  You get one nomination, amplified guitar is fine but electric rock guitar is out.  Hollow body jazz guitar, maybe.  Go ahead, make my day.

Do not knock electric guitar until you’ve seen stanley jordan play. Dont know if theres any youtube but i saw him play live and it was incredible. He can play two melodies simultaneously.

You should definitely give Bireli Lagrene a try. Gypsy jazz at its finest. Otherwise, Tommy Emmanuel is just an all-around awesome acoustic guitarist who plays mostly instrumental music.

I -love- Gypsy Jazz. Dorado Schmitt, Jimmy Rosenberg…beautiful. With that said, I think its hard to beat Mr. Bireli Lagrene as well.

You’ll get a bunch of hits by typing Howard Alden into youtubes’s search box. Unfortunately, none teaming him with his collaborator George Van Eps–they did the guitar work for Sean Penn in ‘Sweet and Lowdown’.
