Ilya Somin, and here. Julian Sanchez here. Arnold Kling here. And Bryan Caplan: "[libertarians] still have an "important mission" – rolling back the welfare state. In fact, this mission is especially important for libertarians to carry on because – unlike stopping central planning – almost no one else wants to work for it."
Hmm….

Ilya Somin states: Tyler himself lists several such fields, including monetary policy, policy towards the high tech sector, and a less perverse tax system. It is, striking, however, that most of the growth in government over the last 30 years has not occurred in these areas.
uhhh, huh? Why would anyone expect “growth in government” — i.e., spending increases and larger bureaucracies — in monetary policy and “a less perverse tax system”? If we had “better” government in those areas, wouldn’t it more likely be due to improved theory and improved data analysis, thereby (probably) improved productivity? That is, slower growth in spending in those areas?
“[libertarians] still have an “important mission” – rolling back the welfare state.”
Unless you don’t believe in ANY State in the first place.
You know, like how mainstream Libertarianism used to be before it lost its principles.
TGGP, the anarcho-capitalist branch of the libertarian movement is alive and well. Check out mises.org for starters.
But enough about me. What did you think of these links that mentioned me?
