8-minute video

Of me, at the Kaufmann Foundation, talking about blogging (and I believe some other things).  Like Scott Sumner, I don't usually watch myself on video so I haven't viewed it.  I don't remember what I said, but I am sure I meant it at the time.  The Kaufmann people seemed to like it.

I thank Tim Kane for the pointer.  From Tim's blog, here is an interesting profile of Carl Schramm, president of Kaufmann.  I did have a chance to meet Carl and he is a fascinating man.

I read MR because the material presented usually looks at the more fundamental aspects of everything around is. Hard questions are asked and alot of the time no one answer is given.

I think Tyler brought it up in an econtalk episode some time ago – pain can be good; and usually the answer we don’t want to hear is the one that we will in the end witness unfold.

Great video!

Tyler, great video! You articulated several reasons why MR readers like myself relentlessly keep coming back for more – even whey they disagree. You’re self-awareness and social observations are truly unique and for that I admire you. Keep up the great work!

Dr. Cowen is right about bloggers being afraid to write on subjects outside of their comfort zones after they run out of things to say. As a college blogger, I’ve noticed that this is the biggest problem among my peers who try to start their own blogs.

Dr. Cowen. I thought you were great in that video. I’m an aspiring blogger so you’ve helped me gain more of a sense of ‘how things work’ when you’re a successful blogger. Thanks!
