The sugar in fruit (without syrup) is
“natural”, dissolves slowly, and is healthier,
though not in excess. Refined sugar and
its substitutes dissolve fast (hence I suppose
the immediate high), and are far less desirable,
though “acceptable” within fairly strict limits.
Cliff: I know that fruit is better for us. I
did a quick search; one source said that
fructose has a low glycemic index because it
breaks down slowly. The glucose in table sugar
may complicate things but I am by no means an
expert nutritionist. Diabetics have to be wary of
of fruit as well, choosing some over others.
the ultimate con: lying about conning loads of people and having your story published.
The con man one is fascinating.
Makes you realize just how much time David Mamet (king of popular entertainment con men) has spent with these kind of people…just change subject of the con from a card game to real estate, and you have Ricky Roma getting the drop on James Lingk in Glengary Glen Ross.
Was I confused or was his big con, essentially the same one as the long con in the Sting?
Are you sure? Fruits mostly contain fructose. Table sugar is sucrose, a disaccharide combination of glucose and fructose. I don’t think there are different kinds of fructose, so isn’t table sugar actually more difficult to beak down? Can you provide a link?
