Leave your bags strewn open in the middle of the entrance hallway. That way you precommit to unpacking them soon and putting everything away.
This strategy does not satisfy the Wicksellian unanimity rule for collective choice.

Get smart with the Thesis WordPress Theme from DIYthemes.
Or you could just not travel, that way you also never have to pack or unpack.
Or to step over, around, or through the resultant pile.
I think this is the worst– at least the worst-for-me– advice I’ve ever seen Tyler give.
I guess you’re not a germaphobe, Tyler? I just about always unpack the day I get back from a trip, because I “have” to disinfect the wheels of my rollerbag, which has been in airport restrooms. *shudder*
Also, if you ever move, you should announce in advance your plans to throw a housewarming party very soon after you move in as a precommitment to getting your new house in order.
@Bill
Not necessarily. They will end up, like mine, under the bed or next to it, utterly forgotten until the next time I wonder where my blue skirt is, or why I suddenly have so many fewer pairs of underwear. The middle of the hallway doesn’t work either, since I have been known to step over things for months before noticing they were there.
Were you in my entry way today, Tyler?
