Follow me, I’m the n. 1 French libertarian on Twitter, and there aren’t that many of us

Twitter is an infantilized medium for the lesser tendency’s of humanity. You’ve got a great thing going in the blogosphere, why marginalize yourself with the pop-brevity-fad?

What’s twitter?
@johnstephens tweets about design, visual storytelling, civil initiative, and peacebuilding.
freeconomics
Sorry for the typo.
@zizekspeaks for bursts of philosophical weirdness, @jayrosen_nyu for the rise of new media, @glenngreenwald for scathing critiques of beltway media, @firelake and @shitmydadsays for laughs.
For the critics of twitter, I often read non-humorous tweets (and even some humorous ones) as essay prompts. Just put “Discuss.” at the end of every tweet and suddenly the medium has a lot more relevance.

Whom.
I agree with luke g: (http://twitter.com/bestofwikipedia)
It won’t clutter your twitter stream (it posts once every twelve hours), and it’s a quick read (< 5 seconds).

It’s whom! Whom should I follow?
Don’t follow anyone who has a blog. If something is very interesting, they’ll blog it, not tweet it.

@THE_REAL_SHAQ
I apologize for derailing – i know it was simply a question about Who and now with regard to what and why, but i couldn’t restrain myself. (Though it would make for a great discussion about the distrubutive effects of Information with regard to twitter and facebook, particularly ‘information discovery’ – in some other topic, at another time)
@rebekahredux has excellent links about Africa (so does @scarlettlion).
@GrammarGirl for touchy issues like “who” and “whom”.
If you like Indian Hindustani/Carnatic music: Shubha Mudgal, @sanjaysub and @chitrasri are all expert musicians who post on Hindustani/Carnatic music.
@aravindadiga who tweets some interesting links about India.
@BreakingNews
Also, the NYT and BBC Twitter feeds (there’s a bunch of them that are useful).
Follow me @scottnolansmith
I tend to use twitter more for sharing of articles, links, and interesting tidbits.
@freeliberal is the underused twitter feed of Free Liberal.
Very tempted to say that no one I follow would interest you. (Except that you might interest yourself–still, that’s not necessarily true on twitter). I *think* that’s the nature of the medium–it just doesn’t fit my mental model of you. Its best use is one-liners, not sharing ideas.
However, hotdogsladies, ironicsans, keithfrankish (the last two have most recent tweets that are not up to par).
Some good people who keep their tweets distinct from their blog posts, and who suit your intellectual tastes:

I mentioned http://twitter.com/sanjaysub , http://twitter.com/smudgal, http://twitter.com/chitrasri for expert musicians of Indian classical music
http://twitter.com/scarlettlion and http://twitter.com/rebekahredux for some great links on Africa
http://twitter.com/aravindadiga for the author and some links on India.
I try to tweet a good mix of political philosophy and other stimulating things here: http://twitter.com/swadley (@swadley)

Perfect example of how to get the most out of Twitter as a tool:
1) Links to blog posts (twitter as a RSS)
2) Requests for info, recomendations etc.
3) The gateway to the best guide for the evolution of internet and tech as a business
The British comedy writer @dotwinter, for a regular stream of brilliant silliness:
Performing far-away magic is much less hassle than close-up, since if it goes badly, no-one will know.
A good gift for a cowboy would be a hat so large it blocked out the sun, so his opponents would not only be intimidated, but cold.
Increase the amount of scenery enjoyed on a day out in the country by running, turning your head quickly from side to side.
Third motion for ‘whom.’
Oh yes, @serafinowicz, who has the single funniest Twitter feed I’ve ever seen.

http://twitter.com/pretendoffice – for freelancers who miss the lame CC’d emails you get when you work in an office. Brilliant.
