Dear Friend of the Tocqueville Forum,
I regret to inform you that we will postpone the "Are the Suburbs a Mistake" lecture and the Great Encounter with Philip Bess to a later date due to adverse weather conditions. Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. We are eager to host Professor Bess and are working to reschedule his visit for a later date.
All the best,
Dr. Brust

Being a student at Georgetown, I recognize this, but why did you post it without any sort of further explanation – where it was to take place, when, a link, etc.? Were you planning on attending? A very odd blog post, indeed.
Dear Stephen:
I think the subtext of this is that Philip Bess couldn’t get his minivan through the winding and narrow streets of the condo complex and from there get down the street past the mini-mall onto the freeway because of a little snow.
Or maybe TC’s just messing with our heads.
It’s funny because the attendees can’t get to the lecture because they live out in the suburbs.
Umm. Georgetown is not in a suburb.
If there’s supposed to be humor here, I’m afraid it is over my head.
in an ideal world, everything is equally funny.
The spam-bots are getting smarter and creepier.
