1. What if companies could run for political office?
2. Barkley Rosser sends in his referee report on the new Peter Chang restaurant.
3. Excellent post on Greece, politics, history, and economics.
4. Honneth's critique of Sloterdijk; the very thought of a Hansonian take on this makes me giggle. In German, there is more here.

Just a question. Could the lack of a tea party movement in the U.K despite similar economic and political problems be the weather. Could Earlier nights in the U.K be putting people off organising themselves into an alternative political movement?
5 is going to make milt Rosenberg curmudgeon-rage.

Tea party movement is basically Republicans trying to re-brand the party; it’s hardly a real third party.
Certainly the Republicans would like to co-opt the Tea Party movement. The problem with Republicans is they never act as true conservatives. The Bushes and Denny Hastert made that painfully clear. Now we may well see a third party. It depends on whether people have the energy and money to accomplish it. But if government continues to force people who pay to support people who don’t pay, we may see a revolt brewing.
Certainly the Republicans would like to co-opt the Tea Party movement.
I’m sure as long as Washington outsider upstarts like Dick Armey and Grover Norquist are involved, the Tea Party will never be contaminated with the stink of the Republican establishment.
