“Berlin is an exceptional place to go see the opera”: so I’ve been saying for some time. Mind you, it’s also a pretty fine place to listen to buskers – lots of Bach.
Yeah, shouldn’t that first link be “Why Leonhardt thinks the alternatives to a carbon tax are worse”? The carbon tax is the mechanism for the enviros to crush our economy. First, the regime puts the regime in place and then makes the cost of carbon emission very high. Voila, you got yourself a green economy! Sorry for that collateral damage to your standard of living. Eggs/omelets, you know.
I think the comments section on this post should be titled, “How sunk costs cause defensive communication.”

“Instead of leaving it up to the government to identify the solution and tell people what to do, you are leaving that decision to the people who know best,† says Nathaniel Keohane of the Environmental Defense Fund. “A bureaucrat would never have enough information to do as good a job.†
I LOVE that EDF and other major enviro groups have bought into more market-oriented solutions, for I see this as a HUGE sign of progress.
First, the regime puts the regime in place and then makes the cost of carbon emission very high.
