On the site linked, it shows to me as a pre-order for $35. Are you getting some sort of discount not generally available?

On Amazon the pre-order is currently $25.22, so $35 isn’t much of a deal….

Thanks, Robin. Now if they could handle the traffic from everyone wanting to buy it… their back-end via proxy keeps timing on on me. Will keep trying. 🙂

Uh oh. The MR-avalanche seems to have crashed the site. Hopefully they can bring it back up soon.

I’m still waiting for Hanson’s preview copy that he surely must have sent me. Right, Robin?

I’m going to get this even though I’m afraid I will become morbidly depressed about the future upon reading it. If anyone wants an appetizer course before picking this up, I recommend reading Robin Hanson’s “Rapacious Hardscrapple Frontier.”

A wildly unreliable prediction can be useful, nevertheless.

Hanson’s non-fiction book is life imitating art, of this science fiction classic: Permutation City by Greg Egan.
