If someone came to you with a decent labor economics paper (say, about immigration), would you advise them to submit it here or to the Journal of Labor Economics? How in general would you advise one to think about when (if ever) to submit to a new journal?
Will they discuss Lynn & Vanhanen’s 2002 book “IQ and the Wealth of Nations?” That’s the acid test of whether they are serious about studying human capital or are just engaging in more business as usual.
If someone had a decent labor economics paper, I hope they would send it to the Journal of Human Resources.
