On the Republican ticket that is, here is the story. Here are many more stories.

Eciting! A proponent of the gold standard. Perhaps the first to run for President since Grover Cleveland?
Looks like I’m going to have to switch my party affiliation to Republican for the first time in about 18 years.
Don’t worry about the gold standard thing, there is no way he could get that law passed. The important thing is the only budgets he sends to congress would be ones with huge spending cuts, he’ll veto spending increases, he’ll veto tax increases, he’ll veto anti-free market legislation, he’ll use the bully pulpit to bring freedom to the average American in both economic spheres and “civil” spheres, as well as gray areas that are in both camps.
He’ll be the beltway establishment’s worst nightmare. Oh yes, he also has to get elected first.
“By the way, most people who support the Gold standard don’t have a basic knowledge of monetary economics.”
Don’t be so quick to reject the gold standard. I can’t speak for “most people” but I was a convinced monetarist, having read most works on the subject, until I was introduced to ABCT.
Also watch what Ron Paul actually says about how he would return to the gold standard, he would not change legal tender, only allow competition.
J, he voted not to federally fund stem-cell research. They don’t call him Dr. No for nothing.
Anti-immigration, pro-choice? I’m not sure “libertarian” fits.
He is a doctor (MD) who is anti-abortion, and I suppose he might also be construed as pro-life. But he is definitely infavor of having the states decide the issue, not the federal government, nor a SCOTUS that has chosen to create laws out of thin air.
I am adamantly prochoice and have no trouble with Roe vs Wade being overturned, so long as the gorunds for overturning it are that it is federal/court overreach.
Wow, a libertarian who realizes we can’t have open immigration. I might actually vote again.
Bill:
All libertarians know that inmigration and the welfare state are incompatible.
Most make the difficult choice between open borders and welfare on the side of open borders.
Ron Paul emphasizes the restricting inmigration message, but what he really advocates is “removing incentives”–> reducing welfare.
Any guesses to where all that money Hillary has so far came from? I sincerely doubt it came from average hard working americans. Lets show support for Ron Paul and send him 10 bucks each if thats all you can afford.

I am not a huge fan of the pro life stance, however he would return this right to the states to make their own decision on the matter. So some conservative states would ban it and others would legalize it. Not a huge deal.
