Inspired by the many Web sites that allow users to rate their teachers,
their doctors, even their neighbors, a couple from Culver City have
created one that allows people to rate police officers and sheriff’s
deputies across the country.
Here is the link. Here is the site. I don’t see any ratings for "hotness"; I guess that is only for the professors. There do seem to be more positive reviews than negative ones. I would on net expect this site to make the world a nicer, freer place, given the benefit of the doubt that abusive cops receive from the system. I also believe this is the beginning of a much wider trend…what will be the next profession to be rated?

Doctors.
Of course, one driver of the positive ratings is cops themselves trying to juice the numbers. If you look at the ratings of the Fairfax county cops, you get a string of positive ratings for the first several cops listed alphabetically. When you look at each rating, you get one word – “good.” The username is Joe Johnson, and all of the ratings occur on the same day, and within a short time of one another.
So I suspect that some cop in the Fairfax County department tried to goose the numbers for their colleagues. This cop was none too bright, either, since he did so in a way that was clearly visible.
With apologies in advance for offensive and sexist language – I think that cop’s a pussy.
Several fields are ranked on Angie’s list (like plumbers and contractors).
Rate a cop and other sites solve the lower the cost of collective action. Given their public good nature, they will be underprovided — but given the costs of having bad cops people will make an effort to contribute.
The lawyer-doctor-plumber types could be covered by a for profit (e.g., consumers reports) since most people shop for those professions ex-ante AND pay their own $$. Although we do not shop for cops, they are funded by taxes and citizens need a way to give feedback that politicians and administrators can react to.
Next one? government bureaucrats, obviously. TSA anyone?
RateMyCongressman?
I was an innocent person. The head of a police department set me up for my business insurance policy. That’s whey I found out that the Justice department is good at helping police out of a sticky situation and ignoring everyone’s rights.
I also found out that the United Nations has a task force for the Police Departments in the United States for ” Crimes against Humanity”. Please reprot if you have a problem!!!! Tell everyone.Your not supposed to know!
Also , I found out that citizen rivue boards across the country were voted down. Why? Becuase you didn’t know about it! You were never given the chance to know.
The police arn’t afraid of being tracked down. They are afraid of being found out for thier dirty deeds. I also found out that( some) police are hired because they did something illegal. That way they won’t rat out their buddies…This is called the Blue Wall…
RateMyCop.com is what the citizens of the United Stated need. There is so much police abuse, so much falsifying of police documents, so much lying under oath, so much ” BLUE WALL”. And I want to say one more thing to the corrupt police…just becuase you cover up for a buddy ” BLUE WALL”, DON’T MEAN YOU ARE INNOCENT! Let me say this another way…Whey you cover up for a Bud ..” Blue Wall” your as guilty as the person you are covering up for and deserve to go to prison. You violated the Citizen’s of the United States trust.
Dear Government, the citizens of the United States are tired of abusive, sadistic police. They no longer protect and serve. There are self serving and abusive. I’m so glad that you can see how everyone feels. Oh sure, you will put a spin on this site. But there will be a time whey the internet will be flooded with this type of sites. This is a HUGE symptom of YOU not serving the people! It’s become a disease. All you hear about is police corruption. Isn’t it funny how so much of it is kept secret. And yet nothing happens to these guys. Isn’t that called organized crime. You bet it is. Everyone please get familiar with (1) Citizen riview boards…(UNITED NATIONS CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY)…(3)RICO LAW…..WHO ACTUALY UPHOLDS THE LAW..IT SURE ISN’T THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT. The guys that went after my insurance police got away with over 1 million dollars, even after there were many confessions. Yours so truly Alphy
