#4 "Health advice has been mostly a public health failure.....Dr. Ancel Keys... was featured on the cover of Time magazine telling Americans that they ate too much." That seems perilously disingenuous. Dr Keys is surely famous for lying about the evidence linking consumption of fats to heart disease.

I want to be able to browse from one MR post to the next (or previous), like I could before! Very useful if if you like to peek at the comments on all posts. I also liked the white letters for the header better. Thanks.

This post didn't show up in my RSS reader...might want to check that out.

And somehow you hijacked Cafe Hayek's RSS on Google Reader. Highly amusing, but expect a letter on the importance of property rights from Don Boudreaux.

This has been remedied, but thanks for heads up. Don wasn't too upset about his and Russ's RSS feed getting caught up in the transition!

Like Ricardo, MR's posts showed up under Cafe Hayek in my reader. I unsubscribed, and re-subscribed to Cafe Hayek, but it still shows MR posts under their feed.

If you try the same thing again, you should see things have been fixed.

Longevity studies sound !00% like happiness studies. Apparently, what makes you happier is exactly what makes you live longer. But since the most robust theory in happiness studies is set-point theory, one would think longevity is primarily due to set-point as well. Why don't the longevity researchers reach this conclusion?

Your new logo looks like it has an aliasing issue

Technically, it's "Daylight Saving Time", not "Daylight Savings Time".

"Why don’t the longevity researchers reach this conclusion?"

Because "How you, too, can be a genius, happy, and live a VERY long time!" sells much better than "The Bell Curve" or "It's mostly in Your Genes: Don't Worry About It."

4. Note the absence of "socialized health care" as an explanatory variable.

5. "Love Me Do" will keep future anthropologists busy for quite some time. The search for a "Yellow Submarine" will rival that of Noah's Ark.

"Conscientiousness, it seems thy other name is Longevity."

dearieme: can you provide evidence that Dr. Keys was actually lying? You're making an accusation of academic dishonesty that i'd like to see a citation for. It's easy to poke holes in his theories 90 years later as the science has improved. However, there is a big difference from a theory being corrected and saying that someone actively lied. I do not think Keys is another Andrew Wakefield.

Given how much we know about, say, the Carolingian Empire (even god-awful History Channel specials get it pretty much right), I doubt the veracity of the Beatles 3000 clip.
