I've read the basically-final draft a couple times now. It's a very nice summary of "the FHI-MIRI consensus on superintelligence," if there is such a thing at all. If you only read one book on the subject, this should definitely be it.

"self-recommending"

Rather like the goal system of an AI. Actually the fact that goal systems are "self recommending" is, in a nutshell, the problem.
