This guy is serious about competing, or the culture that is Philadelphia

"I've been at this for 47 years, and I've never seen mice used as a criminal tool"…

How so?

The owner of a suburban Philadelphia pizza shop was arraigned on Tuesday on charges he schemed to plant live mice in competing pizza parlours in hope of putting them out of business.

Nickolas Galiatsatos, owner of Nina's Bella Pizzeria in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, is accused of putting bags of mice at nearby competitors on Monday afternoon, according to Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.

The owner of Verona Pizza watched Galiatsatos go into his restroom carrying a bag but emerge empty-handed, and alerted two patrol officers who were in the restaurant, Chitwood said.

The officers found a bag of mice and footprints on a toilet seat, suggesting someone had been trying to reach the ceiling tiles, he said.

For the pointer I thank Daniel Lippman.

He faces misdemeanour charges of cruelty to animals, criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct.

"cruelty to animals"?! Give him a break! That's the best thing that ever happened to those mice! If you were a mouse, what would you choose? A pet-store cage or a store full of pizza?!

That is too funny nice way to wake up on Saturday to read a real life story. Thanks for the content and keep the good real life stories coming. Rusty

That's the "Rocky" stereotype of Philly: competitive but not very bright. Sadly, more than a kernel of truth in that...

Mouse dropping.

"I've never seen mice used as a criminal tool"

They make terrible pry bars.

I believe Thomas Edison took steps to have it broadcast that a different kind of electric current invented by someone else and a competitive threat was known to be associated with executions.

Yancey, Has anyone stopped making the false claims?

Or, are you claiming they are not false claims?

I just watch others beating the truth.

Yancey, I don't understand your comment: are you saying that people have not said Obama was a muslim from Kenya?

When you say: Did you stop beating your wife yet? implies that no one has been saying this.

I didn't say YOU were beating your wife. Are you? I guess I did say someone is beating their wife. Are you denying that people have said Obama is a muslim from Kenya? I don't get it.

Tom, Guess again.

I don't know, Bill, the mouse story sounds real.

Yancey, This post was about how people used dirty tricks to get ahead. My comment was that people do dirty tricks to get ahead in a different context.

On a deeper level, it was disgusting for reader to see that someone would compete by using mice, vermin, to get ahead, so pointing out that people compete with similar dirty tricks might make them also feel disgusted when they see others do it in a different context.

But, apparently not you.

My purpose was to point out that we need to keep restaurants clean and politics clean or we will all be living in filth.

I was wondering how many times you would say Hitler before you would call me an idiot. But, since you brought up Hitler, there are a lot of students and uninformed persons who read this blog and accept some wild statements as truth. If they are not answered by someone saying--hey, go look at the Nazi installed German Labor Front which Hitler used to replace trade union--to support someones story that Hitler was a unionist and didn't fear unions as much as he did sausages, that just gives someone power to create mice to place in the ceiling tiles. If someone doesn't want to get challenged on their "facts" they should check them first.

Bill,

LMAO! You brought up the Hitler point, first, dumbass (not calling you an idiot, now). Who exactly was releasing the mice on that one? Then, you come into this thread, and released some more, but then try to cover your ass by claiming you were trying some political and commentary hygiene. You are just a dishonest slimeball who will basically say and write anything to try to convince others that you aren't a total tool.

Yancey, thank you for your thoughtful comments.
